Self Harm is the term used for deliberate behaviour which can cause damage to your health. This can include;
- Over eating
- Taking drugs
- Drinking too much alcohol
- Deliberate bruising
Self Harm can be used as a form of punishment or when a person is feeling particularly angry, distressed, fearful, emotional, depressed or has low self esteem. Self Harm is not usually a failed suicide attempt.
